Maarifaa Terms of Use

1. About Maarifaa

Maarifaa is a knowledge-sharing and education ecosystem that helps students, parents, schools, counsellors, universities and other education stakeholders understand interests, explore academic options and access relevant educational information and services.

Maarifaa may work with authorised local execution partners in different countries. Such partners may support school partnerships, programme implementation, counsellor certification, events, local engagement and marketing. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Maarifaa platform, Career Guidance System, MAAP, core methodology, content and intellectual property remain provided or controlled by Maarifaa.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

Users must provide accurate, current and complete information, keep account credentials secure and remain responsible for activity through their accounts. A parent or guardian acting for a student confirms authority to do so. Where applicable law requires parental or guardian involvement for a minor, the required consent or authorisation must be obtained. Maarifaa may request verification where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or protection of users.

3. Services and the Maarifaa Career Guidance System

Maarifaa Services may include the Maarifaa Career Guidance System, MAAP, academic information and discovery tools, university and programme information, educational resources, counselling-related services, school programmes, counsellor certification, events, partner-led activities and other services made available by Maarifaa from time to time. Specific Services may have additional terms.

The Maarifaa Career Guidance System is a school-focused digital solution designed to support schools and their career guidance teams in helping students make more informed academic and educational decisions. Depending on the programme selected, the System may provide dedicated dashboards and functionality for the school, counsellors and students, together with MAAP and other agreed programme services.

4. MAAP Credits

MAAP Credits are the unit used to enable MAAP within the Maarifaa Career Guidance System.

One (1) MAAP Credit enables one eligible student to complete one (1) MAAP assessment and receive one (1) personalised MAAP student report.

A MAAP Credit is consumed when the applicable MAAP assessment is completed and the personalised report is generated.

MAAP Credits apply specifically to MAAP. They do not represent a separate student licence, subscription, ownership interest or transfer of rights in the Maarifaa Career Guidance System, platform, software, methodology, intellectual property or other Maarifaa Services. The number of MAAP Credits purchased, applicable programme period and commercial terms will be stated in the relevant commercial documentation.

5. AI-Assisted Guidance Features

The Maarifaa Career Guidance System may include AI-assisted features designed to support counsellors in understanding, reviewing or using information and reports available through the System. These features may provide summaries, explanations, prompts, suggestions or other guidance based on available information.

AI-assisted features are continuously developed and may be updated, improved, expanded or modified as Maarifaa evolves the Career Guidance System. AI-generated information should be used as a support resource and reviewed by the appropriate school counsellor or authorised professional before being relied upon for student guidance or communication. Final academic and educational decisions remain with the student, parent or guardian and/or appropriate school decision-maker.

6. MAAP and Educational Information

MAAP is a structured academic alignment assessment and decision-support service intended to help students and families better understand interests and explore academic options. It is not a medical, clinical or psychological diagnosis, an admission test or a guarantee of admission, scholarships, academic performance, employment or career outcomes.

MAAP is not intended to determine a student's future or prescribe a compulsory academic or career path, and it should not be the sole basis for major educational, financial or life decisions. 7. School Programmes and Local Execution Partners

Maarifaa may appoint authorised local execution partners to support school partnerships, programme implementation, counsellor certification, local events, marketing and local coordination. A partner does not acquire ownership of Maarifaa's platform, Career Guidance System, MAAP, methodology, intellectual property or user data merely by acting as a local execution partner.

School programmes may include access to the Career Guidance System and its school, counsellor and student dashboards, MAAP, MAAP Credits, Career Teacher enablement, academic exploration activities, workshops, parent and student engagement and programme review, as specified in the applicable school documentation.

8. Data, Records and Export

A participating school may request an export of school-related information maintained within the Maarifaa platform during or, where applicable, after the programme period, subject to applicable law, individual privacy rights, confidentiality, security requirements and third-party rights.

Maarifaa may provide such information in a reasonable electronic format. Where an export requires substantial technical processing, data extraction, restructuring, reconciliation, manual preparation, custom formatting or other work beyond the platform's standard export functionality, Maarifaa may charge a reasonable Data Export Service Fee, communicated to the school before the additional work is undertaken.

Nothing in this Section limits any right of a data subject, school or other party that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law. A data export does not include Maarifaa's proprietary methodology, question bank, scoring implementation, recommendation logic, software source code, internal algorithms, proprietary datasets, trade secrets or other Maarifaa intellectual property, except where disclosure is expressly required by applicable law. Personal data will be handled in accordance with the Maarifaa Global Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

9. Payments

Prices, taxes, currencies, inclusions and payment conditions will be displayed or communicated before purchase. Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or, for school programmes, through an authorised local execution partner using the approved commercial process. Refunds and cancellations are governed by the Maarifaa Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable Service-specific terms.

10. Acceptable Use

Users must not use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive or harmful activities; impersonate another person; attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data; scrape, copy, resell or commercially exploit Maarifaa content, data or functionality without written permission; or upload malicious, infringing or harmful material.

11. Intellectual Property

Maarifaa and its licensors retain rights in the Maarifaa name, brand, logos, Career Guidance System, platform, software, MAAP, assessment methodology, content, designs, reports, databases and related intellectual property. Use of the Services does not transfer ownership.

12. Third Parties

Services may link to or integrate with universities, schools, payment providers, analytics providers and other third parties. Their own terms and privacy practices apply.

13. No Guarantee

Maarifaa provides information, assessments and decision-support resources. Final academic, university, financial, visa, accommodation and career decisions remain with the student, parent or guardian, school or other decision-maker, as applicable. Maarifaa does not guarantee a particular outcome.

14. Suspension

Maarifaa may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users or platforms, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce these Terms, comply with law or discontinue a Service, subject to applicable law.

15. Privacy

Personal-data processing is described in the Maarifaa Global Privacy Policy. Where consent is the required legal basis for a particular processing activity, Maarifaa will request it separately.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will receive appropriate notice where required, and renewed acceptance will be requested where legally required.

17. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Frameworks

MAAP is developed by Maarifaa using established educational and vocational-interest theories and frameworks, including Holland's RIASEC framework, as a foundational reference. Maarifaa does not claim ownership of Holland's RIASEC theory, its underlying concepts, constructs or other third-party theoretical frameworks.

The specific MAAP assessment design, original questions and content created by Maarifaa, scoring implementation, report structure, educational explanations, platform implementation, software, branding and other original materials developed by or for Maarifaa are owned by or licensed to Maarifaa, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

MAAP may also use or reference third-party information, frameworks, classifications, data or other materials subject to their respective ownership, licensing or usage terms. No rights in such third-party materials are transferred to the user through use of MAAP.

18. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to ensure accuracy, Maarifaa does not guarantee that all content is free of errors or omissions. We are not liable for any loss, direct or indirect, arising from:

• Use or inability to use the platform
• Delays, interruptions, or data loss
• Third-party services or communication breakdowns

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maarifaa, its parent company, affiliates, directors, and employees from any claims, liabilities, or losses resulting from your use of the platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
